objective:

This new residence is built on a classic New England woodland ridge, overlooking a sloping meadow, and the great bay estuary. From an extremely detailed program a modern sustainable design was developed. The site grading was studied and finessed to allow the building to perch on the crest of the ridge with little additional site disturbance. The house integrates many systems to reduce its impact on the environment. With its energy efficient design, it earned a 5+ Energy Star Certification.
