Newmarket, NH

Site description:

On the NH coast facing Great Bay.

This new residence is built on a classic New England woodland ridge, overlooking a sloping meadow, estuary and the Great Bay. From an extremely detailed program a modern sustainable design was developed. The house integrates many systems that reduce any detrimental effect to the environment. With its energy efficient design, it earned a 5+ Energy Star Certification. The site grading was studied and finessed to allow the building to perch on the crest of the ridge with little additional site disturbance.
This project was published in ‘Contemporary Design in Detail: Sustainable Environments’ book.
